Sports Box Etiquette and Rules

The facilities are unstaffed. Please play respectfully — non-compliance may result in closures.

  • When all courts are full and players are waiting, players rotate after a game is played or 15 minutes of practice.
  • A game is to 11 points (win by 2). Players must leave the court after each game.
  • Groups without enough players for a game may use up to 15 minutes for drills, warm-ups, or singles before vacating.
  • Bring your own equipment and portable nets. Burnaby residents can access nets through WebReg registration.
  • Lacrosse has priority — clear the box when a scheduled lacrosse session begins.

Court sharing during public hours

When more than 3 courts are occupied by pickleball and other sports arrive:

  • Jack Crosby: keep other sports to the north side; pickleball uses the 3 south courts. Pickleball players on north courts get 15 minutes to relocate.
  • Sohen Gill: keep other sports to the west side; pickleball uses the 3 east courts. Pickleball players on west courts get 15 minutes to relocate. A net lockbox is available November 1 – April 31; it relocates to Confederation Park during the warmer months.
